About 8 years ago I attended the Antiques Festival at the fairground in Palm Beach County FL. At that time I bought several photos from the Franzen and Van Heufeln families. Imagine my surprise when I recently attended the same show, found the same vendor, and found the same surname of Franzen.
This is Harold Louis FRANZEN, born 1 Mar 1921 in Leigh NE, to parents Frank FRANZEN and Addie KORFHAGE. Frank Franzen was a brother to Heie and Ubbo "Otto" Franzen who are mentioned in previous posts. That makes Harold a first cousin to Otto's kids Art & Elaine Franzen (https://oldphotosfound.blogspot.com/2014/03/franzen-art-and-elaine.html) and to Heie's kids Minnie, Elsie and Ester (https://oldphotosfound.blogspot.com/2014/03/franzen-and-van-heufeln-children.html).
He attended USC and married Evelyn Baker in Anaheim. [This news notice at right appeared in "The Leigh World" 06 Dec 1946.]
He worked as assistant superintendent of schools. They lived for many years in Anaheim CA, but returned to Columbus Nebraska around 1985.
He died 3 Dec 1992. His obit mentions a surviving brother La Verne Franzen, but does not mention any children.
