PHOTO ACQUIRED: Among a group of photographs given to me by Carol Kleppinger (so I can find homes for them) - these are friends, schoolmates and acquaintances of her grandmother Florence Ream.
This is Elra Douglass, born 20 Aug 1878 in Black Hawk County Iowa to parents James H. Douglass (d. 1907) & Mary L. Taylor (d.1933). He had four brothers:
- Oliver Earnest Douglass (1875-1916)
- Benjamin James Douglass (1881-1881) died as infant
- Earl Robert Douglass (1884-1953)
- Walter Albert Douglass (1896-1957)
Elra attended Cornell College in Mt Vernon Iowa then took up residence in California.
He married Jean Lillis Young. They had a son and a daughter.
