CALLANDER, George Morgan (Painesville, OH)

IDENTIFIED AS: "Morgan Calander"

PHOTO TAKEN: Painesville OH, May 1886

PURCHASED: September 2026, Bright's Antique World, Franklin, KY

This photo was found at an Antiques mall in Franklin Kentucky, and after researching this young man, I am at a loss to understand how it managed to find its was to Kentucky. This fellow and his family seem to have been residents of Ohio and New Jersey, as far as I can tell. However, he may have had grandchildren who scattered on the four winds and taken the image with them.

George Morgan CALLANDER was born November 23, 1878 in Painesville Ohio to parents George Ferguson Callander (1851-1927) and Mary Elias-Callander (1851-1945).

He graduated in 1899 from Painesville High School.

In January of 1911 he married Aline Young.

Census records show the family began in Painesville OH and relocated to New Jersey before 1930.
